CSI improves grant knowledge with FEMA workshop in Washington, D.C.

Monday, Oct. 26 through Wednesday, Oct. 28, Ryan Reeves attended a Non Disaster Grants Management System Training Workshop in Washington, D.C.

This three-day program was held by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and introduced the ND Grant System.

The new grant portal, which will be used for all fiscal year 2010 FEMA grant announcements, will consolidate the entire non-disaster grants management lifecycle into a single system making the application process more simple.

Developed based on employee and other stakeholder input, best practices, and lessons learned, the ND Grants initiative will be implemented via a phased approach where system functionality is released to coincide with staff need for the functionality, according to FEMA.

The system will interface seamlessly with the FEMA Financial System and Grants.gov, and will collect grant data in a structured, searchable format to allow reporting and ease with data manipulation requests.
