Transportation

Grants awarded to members of the transportation industry aim to increase efficiency, improve access, advance technologies and sustain the environment.

To put it simply, transportation is the movement of people and goods from one place to another. But, this movement is not always a painless process, especially considering its importance to the global economy.

How do grants aid transportation?

Through over one hundred programs, The U.S. Department of Transportation annually funds approximately $32 billion in grants and cooperative agreements.

Departmental grants are generally made to state and local governments, with a lesser amount going to Native American tribes, universities, and nonprofit organizations.
